Celebrating a New Chapter: Arkansas Moves Officially Launches
By Jessica Pearson, Arkansas Moves
This past month, we gathered with friends, partners, and longtime supporters to mark an important milestone—the official launch of Arkansas Moves.
Hosted as a casual, come-as-you-are celebration, the evening was less about announcements and more about people. It was a chance to reconnect, reflect, and recognize the shared work that brought us here—while looking ahead to what’s next.
A Moment to Pause—and Acknowledge Progress
For many in the room, this launch wasn’t the beginning of something new, but the continuation of work that’s been unfolding for years.
Arkansas Moves builds directly on the foundation of the Bentonville Moves Coalition and the relationships, trust, and momentum created through that effort. The launch marked a new chapter—not a departure—affirming that Bentonville’s progress, partnerships, and priorities remain central as the work expands across the region.
More than anything, the gathering served as reassurance: no community is being left behind as Arkansas Moves grows.
Why Arkansas Moves, and Why Now
Communities across Northwest Arkansas are growing and changing quickly. With that growth comes opportunity—and responsibility.
Arkansas Moves was created to provide structure, coordination, and professional support for active mobility efforts that are already happening on the ground. Our role is to help communities move from ideas to implementation by supporting coalition leadership, aligning partners, and keeping people at the center of decision-making.
This launch reflects a shared understanding that safe, convenient, and people-focused mobility is not a side project. It’s a core part of how communities thrive.
What We Heard—and What Comes Next
The conversations throughout the evening echoed a common theme: people want to stay involved, stay informed, and stay connected.
Looking ahead, Arkansas Moves will focus on:
Strengthening local coalitions and working groups
Supporting city-led and community-driven mobility projects
Expanding storytelling and communication across the region
Launching tools and resources, including our mini-grant program
The Arkansas Moves website and updated communication channels are now live, with additional resources rolling out in early 2026.
Gratitude for the People Behind the Work
This launch was made possible by the many individuals who have shown up consistently—advocates, city staff, business leaders, nonprofit partners, and residents who care deeply about where and how they live.
Your presence, support, and belief in this work are what make progress possible.
Looking Ahead with Intention
Arkansas Moves exists to help communities move forward together—thoughtfully, collaboratively, and with care.
This launch wasn’t about a single evening or announcement. It was about marking a moment of alignment and reaffirming a shared commitment to building places where everyone can move safely, connect easily, and feel at home.
We’re grateful for the road behind us—and excited for what’s ahead.
Because a better way forward is something we build together.
